Sheffield Pickleball Pricing Information
Pricing is an important issue and we have tried to create a system that is as affordable and straightforward as possible. Sheffield PIckleball Club is a volunteer run, not-for-profit community organisation.
Session Payments
All session 90 minutes and over are £5.
Sessions that are 90 minutes or less are £3.
Although different venues charge different hire fees, the club has a standard pricing system so as to not disadvantage any area in Sheffield in which the hall charge is higher.
Membership Fee
Membership fees are an annual payment of £10.
Membership payments are requested after a participant has attended two sessions.
Membership fees help to pay for equipment such as paddles, nets, balls, along with annual public liability insurance. The club has also incurred a debt due to start-up costs that need to be repaid.
To keep costs low, when possible, second-hand equipment is sought from Ebay and Vinted.
If we have a surplus at the end of the year, reducing the membership fee or withdrawing it entirely is a possibility.
Refunds
Currently we do not offer refunds for sessions or membership fees. This is because the organisation of the club is run through the app ‘Spond’, which does not process refunds.
Payments through Spond App
All payments are made through the ‘Spond’ app which uses a company called ‘Stripe’ to process payments.
For the service, Spond app takes a transaction fee. For example, for a £5 session, Sheffield Pickleball Club will take £4.67.
Although this leads to a slight loss in revenue, as the club is run by volunteers, this is deemed the most time-efficient, simplest and transparent method.
Questions or feedback from members is welcome and encouraged.
